Basic components of the computer system

Let us have a look at the different part of computer.

1- Monitor

2- CPu

3- Keyboard

4- Printer

5- Mouse

Monitor – A monitor looks like a television screen. It is connected to the CPU through the wire. It is also called visual display Unit . It can be colored or black and White . It is an Output device , as it display the work done by the computer .

CPU – CPU stands for central processing Unit . It is also known as the Brain os the computer . It soes all the calculation .

Keyboard – Function keys , Number keys , Alphabet keys , Space bar , Cursor control keys , Numeric key pad and special keys make the keyboard .Keyboard is attached to the CPU and looks like a typewriter . It has many small buttons on it called “keys”. By pressing the key , the keyboard sends information to the CPU . Keys can be classified as :- 

1 – Alphabet keys – Collection of all alphabets { Capital and Small}.

2 – Number keys – A Collection of Nu7mber {0-9}

3 – Function keys – Some keys work for functions .

4 – Cursor control – Arrow keys that control the cursor movement .

5 – Special keys like Enter key , Space bar key , caps lock key , Del key , Alt key , Shift key etc .

Printer – A printer is an Output device that gives us Output in the printed from on the paper . As we draw pictures on the drawing sheet and write on the paper . printer can print in color as well as in block and white . Today variety of printer , Laser printer etc .

Mouse – The Pointing device which work as Your social science teacher demonstrates on the map by rod .  The  mouse works in the same way to point an object on the monitor .

This is an input device . It usually had two or more buttons on it usually has two or more buttons on it . It helps you to select items on the screen .
