 There are many different ways to connect to the internet . some are old technology , rather slow and used right now only when no other means is available , such as the old telephone line with a speed of 56 kbps , the ISDN system , the GPRS and EDGE mobile phone system . Modern technology‘s are called broadband:-

1.  ASDL – 500 kbps in upload , 8-20 Mbps download

2. UMTS – 5 mbps in upload , 40 mbps download

3. LTD – Up to 100 mbps

4. Wireless Wi-Fi – 30-300 mbps

5. WiMax – 40 mbps
